The European Transpersonal
Association
Dear Member of the
Delegate Council,
Greetings!
Please read this carefully
and let us have any comments by 24 April. If we do not hear from
you by then, we will assume that you are in agreement with the proposed
amendments. The purpose of circulating the Bylaws and Constitution
is to give time for them to be reviewed before our meeting in Bad
Kissingen.
EUROTAS
CONSTITUTION
The Dobogoko council
meeting asked the Board to review the Constitution and the
Bylaws to ensure that
they were consistent with the new approach and the Bylaws amendments
to Article III, paragraph 3 which was omitted and Article IV paragraphs
1 and 2. (see letter on Bylaws)
There are 3 proposed
changes to the Constitution to ensure this consistency and to confirm
the unanimous wishes of the Board and Council at the meeting in
Dobogoko that other associations and individuals should be able
to join EUROTAS. Also to confirm our wish that we should strive
to interpret the expressed desire of the Constitution which states:
"implicit in all this is the search for ways to transcend national
boundaries." We want to encourage all European associations
to work together, not necessarily European countries. These three
proposed changes to the Constitution require a two-thirds
majority of the Delegate Council
1. Article II.
Replace "national" with "European transpersonal associations."
Reason for Change.
To confirm the decisions taken in Dobogoko, that more than one association
from any country can join EUROTAS
2. Article III.
This reads:
" EUROTAS is composed
of formally established transpersonal associations or federations
with legal identity, one for each European country, called
Members. Any European country not yet represented in EUROTAS
can apply to join as a Member. Other European organisations interested
in the transpersonal movement can be invited by their national
associations to become Friends of EUROTAS in the Network, with
no voting rights."
It is proposed to:
Delete "one for
each European country".
Replace "country"
in the second sentence with "association or federation".
Delete " by their
national associations in the third sentence."
The revised paragraph
reads: " EUROTAS is composed of formally established transpersonal
associations or federations with legal identity in Europe, called
Members. Any European transpersonal association not yet represented
in EUROTAS can apply to join as a Member. Other European organisations
interested in the transpersonal movement can be invited to become
Friends of EUROTAS in the Network with no voting rights."
Reason for Changes:
To confirm the decision taken in Dobogoko, that more than one association
from any country can join EUROTAS
3. Article IV. paragraph
1. Delete "national".
Reason for Change:
To confirm the decisions taken in Dobogoko, that more than one association
from any country can join EUROTAS
Best Wishes
EUROTAS Board of Administrators.
